Did you ever have this feeling…

Like you MUST prospect everyone that comes within your hand reach? Maybe it’s something that pops in the back of your head that when you are pumping gas if there’s anyone around who “looks sharp” and that you should prospects.

What about isles at the grocery store…. while you are shopping with your kids. I don’t know about you, but I am EXTREMELLY distracted when I’m at the store with my kids so they don’t knock something down, don’t add too many unhealthy snacks or fight. Head down to moms who used to go to grocery store with kids on purpose to prospect. I don’t know how you do it.

For me, I used to be a PREDATOR MOM. Every time I’d go to the park with kids, I’d make mom friends only to pop a question to all of them later about my business. I had an agenda and it felt so sleazy.

And did you ever… think that you “HAVE TO BE PREPARED” and have samples and brochures with you everywhere you go? All in case someone asks: “What do you do?”

You are probably sick and tired of spending money on all these samples and hardly have anyone interested to buy…

In my video I mentioned building a target market of people who are your ideal prospects and would want to join you or buy from you. I also mentioned that you can learn how to attract, influence and then enroll effortlessly and grow your team. All of that you can learn in my FREE Attraction Marketing Boot Camp. Let’s talk social media now

No wonder many marketers are now looking to build their business on social media. Prospecting in stores, malls, gas stations and parks is not all that fun. You think social media will be so much easier, there are billions of people on it. What could go wrong?

Quite a few things actually…. The first thing to learn is that NOT EVERYONE IS A PROSPECT. Marketers think that if they pitch enough people every day, eventually someone will say yes.

But is this isn’t a way you’d want to be building your business? I’m sure you’d want to be more effective and spend less time doing it.

I used to spend ridiculous hours messaging people, connecting, asking to look at my business until, one day I had enough. It was a beautiful day and I decided to spend it at the beach with kids. It was the most freeing moment I felt in a while. That is when I decided I’m going to build my business differently, more effectively so I CAN spend time with family.

Do’s and Don’ts

I’m sure you’d like to know what are some absolute Don’t when it comes to prospecting on social media. I’ve made some of the mistakes that I’d like to spare you off. My first mistake was that I wasn’t very selective about who I approached about my business. I approached EVERYONE. They say: “It’s a numbers game”, right? But it is not fun spending hours and hours messaging and hoping to get lucky.

1. Don’t- don’t send unsolicited links

Have you ever received one of those messages:

“Hey I just joined this wonderful company that’s nothing I ever seen, the best comp plan, the best products, team, timing and I am looking for 5 people to personally sponsor. You got to see this!!! Check out this short video.” (Link)

They are annoying, right? So do you think if you send links before someone requesting more information is annoying for your prospects too? Please, please don’t send those.

2. Don’t lead with your wallet

These messages usually start with “HEY GIRL”, and something like this:

“… I am so close to my next rank and only need $$$ to hit it. Would you mind making a post for me on your wall? You don’t have to do anything and I’d contact anyone who is interested. Thanks so much!!”

I do mind! I’ve been building my following on my social media for years and I don’t SELL to my audience. It would be a huge loss for me as I would ruin the trust and credibility with my tribe.

On a more positive note, let’s talk about what TO DO

1. Revolve your world around your followers

First of, build a following of highly targeted people that are already interested in what you have. We go over this in my FREE 10 Day ATTRACTION MARKETING Boot Camp.

After you identify who your ideal prospect is,

2. GIVE VALUE.

Provide as much value that’s humanly possible, talk to their pains and their dreams. Be there for them as a support, answer their burning questions, give advice and in time they will be buying anything that you recommend to them. You are going to create long term following and loyalty.
