I’m sure you’d like your prospects to say “YES!” every time.
In my experience with recruiting, it wasn’t always like this. Lots of times my prospects felt like being sold to, persuaded, convinced to join me. The reason why I know this is they were not very enthusiastic about it, it was almost it was my idea and to my benefit and not theirs.
Because of that, they wouldn’t stay for long and they would first go into whiteness protection program and then quit.
I know most marketers, including me, get started for selfish reasons. They think about what is in it for them first, how much money they will make, what rank they would hit or what incentive they would earn… But then the ones who are extraordinary in this profession put their prospects needs and wants first.

3 golden rules.. of cold market prospecting
When I first got started, it was all about me, hitting the next rank, being on a leaderboard, winning bonuses and incentive trips. I had poor leadership skills and people I recruited were dropping off. It made me realize it was not recruiting I needed most but leadership skills I was lacking. Leader needs to be worth following.
1. Take action
Nothing happens, your business is not going to start growing unless you take action, massive action. This is crucial. When taking action it has to be the right action. If there is anything you are doing and it is not giving you the results you want, you got to analyze and adopt. I too was stuck in insanity where I was consistent for 2 years in doing things that were giving me very poor results.
2. Active listening
Most marketers go about their business pitching and everything is about me, me, me, I, I and I. The truth is that most successful ones make it about the person in front of them. One of the most important skills is LISTENING. Ask questions and really listen.
People want to feel understood and know that you care. Asking THE RIGHT questions is a must. This way you will have your prospects sell themselves to you because your opportunity sounds like a perfect solution for their problems and wants.
3. Posture
Not everyone is your prospect. You need to be ok saying: “If it’s not for you, no big deal.” Your business is not for everyone, same like any other profession isn’t for everyone. But sometimes we are told by our uplines that our products are for everyone. Have you heard that before?
In closing
We have to have a plan. What does your massive action plan look like? What will you do on day to day bases that will get you to the result you desire? Remember not everything will work, you have to adopt.
Make your action plan long term, trying something is not the same as being determined.
It has to be about THEM. Be a friend first, discover how you can help EVEN if it doesn’t benefit you. Listen and ask the right questions.
Be professional, tell them it is ok if it is not something for them.
