“Follow up till they either drop dead or say yes”
Have you ever heard that saying before? Is this true? Do you follow that rule or you think it makes no sense? In this episode we are talking about FOLLOW UP… the right and the wrong way and reasons why we are told we have to follow up forever, despite our prospects not responding or saying NO.

Because we are told to follow up no matter what and never stop, I’m sure you found yourself in the situation that you have a contact you sent 5 follow up messages and had 0 responses. At what point do you stop?
We are also told: “NO is not a NO forever” after all. I’ve been through all of this and I am embarrassed. How did I not take no as a no, but kept bothering people despite.
What about posture?
The funny thing is that trainers who say you have to have POSTURE, also teach that you have to follow up like this. It is impossible to maintain posture when you are showing weakness by keep messaging and having no response even after 5 plus messages.
POSTURE- not everyone needs to join us, we are not needy. yet when we follow up we are showing DESPERATION.
I used to always try to come up with these clever ways to follow up, to get them to respond, but was getting nowhere. They were clearly not interested and I was annoying them.
It all started with a “pitch”
It is very different the way I am building my business now, but before it ALWAYS started with a pitch first. You prospected them! This is very different than a prospect raising their hand to something you posted and they are interested in what you have.
The way you did prospect was likely deceptive too…. You were maybe hiding that it’s a network marketing until sending a video or were only asking for favors in hopes they would like what they see.
Prospecting and follow up
Prospecting and following up used to be my most hated daily tasks I was doing and now that I’m using ATTRACTION MARKETING to build my business, none of the things I do are uncomfortable or icky.
I used to procrastinate on this…. I was tire of prospecting, ending tons of messages until my fingers would hurt and then following up with those same people. The frustrating thing was, I was reaching out to thousands of people and was getting minimal results based of that. It felt like a waste of time. Time I could be spending with my family.
We feel we have to do it because our marketing hasn’t kicked in yet and we are not attracting any leads yet, but the thing is, we got to lean in more to marketing, learn it because that is a solution.
Get better at MARKETING
Invest your time and possibly money learning attraction marketing. Get good at it, master it! Once you do that, the whole world is going to open to you. When I stopped prospecting and following up that’s when my business transformed. Tension, bad feeling was gone. I finally truly do what I love.
The follow up in this case is very different. Your prospects are reaching out to you. They are already interested. They want you to follow up because they raised their hand wanting to know more.
I now give you a permission to STOP following up after two messages if they haven’t responded. We are going to focus our energy to more productive things.
Get them off the fence
The only thing you need to do is get them of the fence. Find out if they are in or out and either way is fine. Find out on which side they fall and respect that.
Better ways of following up
Did you know that everything you post in customer’s groups, your profile posts, stories? You can also be building an email list where you can follow up with thousands at the same time.
I used to hate spending every free second on the phone and instead now I get to spend my time with family. It was a big realization when my husband came home one day and said: “It’s a beautiful day, let’s go to the beach!” I was like: “YES!” and threw my prospects book over my shoulder. I was no longer a slave of this.
