To be honest…
At first I hated Instagram. I was only building my business on Facebook and dabbling on Instagram, not really understanding the platform. I had a bad energy about it like it was a chore. To top that I wasn’t getting any results, my following was not growing, it was stagnant for a while.
This is why I focused more on Facebook because I was getting sales and sign ups form there.
Now it all changed…. I get most of my leads and sales from Instagram and I’m going to share with you how.
Long gone are times where you could use JUST ONE platform.
Before it was fine, but you can no longer use just one platform and expect to grow your business. From a marketing side, the great thing is that you can repurpose your content to many platforms today and therefor EXPAND YOUR REACH.
Facebook and Instagram are similar in many ways and you can repurpose all your content, like stories, reels, posts and even lives. Stories and posts can be automatically shared on both in your settings.
Biggest advantage Facebook has
The biggest advantage Facebook has over Instagram are FACEBOOK GROUPS. Groups are HUGE and still a great way to grow your network and your business. There are millions of different groups in different niches you can become a part of.
Some changes did happen when it comes to groups like it’s not as easy to join and invite people in. It’s a little more controlled now, but it’s still a great resource to grow your business with.
Also Facebook Groups can be helpful to organize challenges, courses and training for your team too. I’m also a part of training programs that utilize Facebook groups very successfully.
You can categorize a very specific target market with Facebook group where you attract only people interested in same things as you.
Instagram is about #
Instagram is all about # hashtags. It uses hashtags to put your content in front of the right people who are looking for what you have. It’s important to use them because this is how your content is going to be found.
Buckets of content
Here’s a difference when creating content for Facebook vs. Instagram. Facebook lets you talk about a few interest buckets to create social interactions where only small amount of your content can be business focused. On Instagram you must pick one niche and ONLY talk about that niche providing value and marketing to them.
On Instagram you can be very specific and when you do this your Instagram can go very fast.
Facebook, especially your personal profile, requires for you to post some personal stuff, stories wrapped around your business. You can’t be as focused as on Instagram.
So which one to use?
It only takes a little extra time to adopt and repurpose your content on both platforms, so I’ll say: USE BOTH. Gone are the days when you can grow with just one. You want to be ahead of everyone else that is building their business online.
Use LinkTr.ee
LinkTr.ee is an amazing took you can put in your bio where you can add as many links as you like. Use it. Nearly all of my leads and sales come from me pointing people to go there. It is your true money maker.
Your link is a bit more clear on Instagram so people can easily see it.
Great thing about Facebook is you can pre-schedule your posts. There are apps to do the same for Instagram too. I don’t do it, but I repurpose my Facebook scheduled posts to Instagram once they are published.
Hashtags #
I’d suggest to create a few sets of them, 8 max in each set and save them in your phone notes so you can easily copy and paste them on your posts. For example I have 3 different sets of hashtags I use:
- For Attraction Marketing
- Network marketing
- Mindset
Mix the up so you’re not seen as a robot. Instagram
Reels is where I use them daily plus I have a call to action in every Reel pointing people to the link in my bio. From that I get 3-5 qualified leads EVERY DAY for my business.
I now teach my team this strategy…..
