A story how we sold our house…
Earlier this year we sold our house we lived in for 9 years. And we ended up using the same realtor that the previous owner hired when he sold us that house.
You may wonder why? We didn’t use our friends or referrals and we went with this guy instead. Here’s why….
Ever since we moved in we started getting monthly newsletter to our door from him. It would always have what the market was like and what our houses in the neighborhood sold for. There was also a recipe included, which was pretty cool.
It wasn’t anything fancy, just an A4 paper hanging on our door. We would sporadically get a fancy flyer in our mailbox too, but nothing consistent.
This guy was AN EXPERT for our neighborhood.
When we decided to sell and buy a new bigger house, I said to my husband we should hire him. And it was the best decision!! He ended up selling it for the top price in our neighborhood, handled our buyers appropriately (they were all over the place) and we were all so happy.
One thing he did besides proving himself as an EXPERT was to provide us with free value for 9 years sharing that newsletter with us.
So how can we use this example for what we are doing as network marketers?
Before someone enrolls in your team or buy your products, you got to have these 3 things.
They have to:
1. Know you
2. Like you and
3. Trust you.
It is very unlikely that you would buy something from a complete stranger that doesn’t have these 3 things. Especially if it is online.
How do we provide VALUE the fastest?
In my opinion is by doing videos. When you are on the video, people who don’t know you feel like they do. There’s no hiding like behind posts. You are real, raw and authentic. They learn how you talk as if you are talking with them in person.
Here’s an example… When I joined my business I met my upline via zoom and a year later we were at the event together in Vegas. I said to her: “nice to meet you!” and she was like: “yeah that’s right! We haven’t officially met in person yet”.
It felt like we did.
I too felt like I knew so many people there that I was only communicating with via video.
Here’s how to provide value through your content
You got to educate, empower and entertain through your videos and posts. It is about, what is in it for them. They see you as an expert in your field. This is not posting about your products or business all the time. In fact, doing that only chases people away.
Value is also taking people behind the scenes of your life. When I was first starting marketing online I learned that value is showing you watch tv with kids or play at the park. It makes people relate to you.
After I gave birth to my daughter, I was doing videos with her on my shoulder. I was on zoom calls lifting my camera up because she was nursing at the same time.
This tells another mom: “if she can do it, I can do it too.”
Even when you are promoting products in your posts (doing it in a way that raises curiosity and not flash the product name…), you got to lead with value.
Leading with value is sharing a story of struggle and a story or triumph. Then give them a call to action to learn more.
Another way to provide value…
This is through offering something called “a FREEBIE”. Freebie is an information like an E-book, PDF guide, checklist, webinar, video that gives them information and in return they provide their email and/or number to get it.
Inside of the freebie, you can include your product, service or business as one of the tips. People are more likely to take action and buy from you when you first provide information that they need to hear.
In 2023 we need to all be marketing this way by providing value first or we will not be in the business. There is a big competition online and you want to be the one who stands out.
