Have you ever been told that you have to go engage and have conversations with EVERYONE that likes or comments on your posts? Because they are leads, right…? That’s not necessarily true.
So people who engage with you on your post get annoyed because there is a message coming from you almost immediately: “Are you interested?” or if they are open to look at this or that.
If you are doing this jumping on every comment, you are going to chase people away vs attract them. I’m going to share with you more effective strategy, where people will be reaching out to you.
Here’s my experience…
When I first started with Network Marketing, I did experience some success with social media marketing. It took some time to build engagement and following. At first it was my husband, my nephew and my husband’s best friend who were liking my posts because I asked them to, but then it grew.
After a while I noticed that Social Media is changing. I would engage before and after I post, but would get hardly any engagement, it would be- crickets…
I was sure it was the algorithm change. Have you ever blamed algorithm when something is not right? It does play a role that’s for sure because over the years more people are marketing on social media and competition is way higher than before. You are competing with everyone in your company and everyone in the industry too.
This blew my mind…
I learned that it’s not the algorithm that is the biggest reason, it was my content that wasn’t matching the audience I was looking to attract.
Once I understood this, it completely turned things around for me. I made a clear post on what my audience can expect from me and who I will be posting for. It was HUGE.
Even with all the “fact checking” that’s going on, my engagement blew up. It was because I was now talking to my ideal prospects through my posts.
Here are the 3 things you need to know:
1. Be clear on your target market
You got to pick WHO you are going to be marketing too, who is your niche or your target market. Then you’re going to be posting to their problems and interests.
2. Actively ATTRACT more people in your target market
You are now going to grow your audience by putting your content in front of your ideal prospects. It can be done by doing Reels, live videos, posting the right hashtags, being active in similar interest groups.
At first you will be doing more of the active connecting and later they will start following you.
3. Keeping them engaged
Now you are going to keep them engaged with your content, make them want to stay. That is accomplished by providing value to them. Your goal is to keep them interested. So that means you would not only share your products. In fact, not at all. All you’d do is to create a curiosity around it so they ask you for more info.
ORGANIC SALES FUNNEL
Every social media platform has its own funnel. You can imagine it as the big part or the top of the funnel is you attracting audience. My favorite way to attract is by doing Reels and then sharing them across other platforms too. (I start on Instagram.)
Short form videos, unlike other posts, get seen by much wider audience, people that you don’t know. When attracting reach is the most important.
Another way to ATTRACT is by engaging and posting, making connections in various groups. I don’t do this as much now since I’m very successful with my Reels. So if you are going to be consistent with them, that is the best.
The next part of your funnel is where you’re making this new audience stick with you. They begin to build know, like and trust factor with them.
Here’s the next piece….it is stories. There is where magic happens because once they engage in your stories they are already in your messenger. And you guessed it, in conversations is where sales happen.
Another cool thing about stories is you can see who’s watching them unlike on your feed where people can read it and you never k ow they did.
So all of these parts are important for the funnel to work.
AUTOMATED FUNNEL
There is also a funnel that’s automated. I like this because I truly can get customers sign up on autopilot without having to talk with them first. They get all the information they need to make a decision to buy and they do.
Posting Schedule
I’ve been doing this for a while… and I just recently shared it with my team. That is my themed posting schedule. Each day of the week is a different type of a post and I know exactly what thyme it is.
This is especially helpful to those people who find themselves wondering for hours-“what should I post?” So for example if you post a motivational quote on Monday, have a few saved up and the choose the one best suited for that time.
Every single post needs to have a call to action-CTA.
It can be asking for likes or comments, subscribe, follow, send a message, read the caption and my favorite one is “link in bio”. People won’t do anything if you don’t ask for it, so ask.
Something super simple like putting a number in the comments would do.
