Have you ever wondered…
Why do we use the term “closing” in Network Marketing? Isn’t that a sales term, you may wonder… Yes it is. You are being told that Network Marketing is everything BUT sales. “We are only sharing”.
The truth is, if your uplines were honest, nobody would be joining. You’re told: “It is easy. Just follow the proven system. ”
So let’s say it once and for all that Network Marketing is a form of sales.
In My Team, I prefer using a word ENROLL instead of CLOSE because we use Attraction Marketing to promote our business. Qualified prospects come to us and they are already interested and eager to start.
Here’s a difference between PROSPECTING & ATTRACTING…
PROSPECTING
You first have to FIND the prospect, get them interested to watch your presentation. That’s either by sharing a video, get them on a zoom call or an in-person meeting. First you have to schedule when they will watch it. Then you have to confirm a. couple of times too, to make sure they are still available.
If you don’t close them on the spot, you have to follow up. Maybe you have to make another appointment to hopefully close the deal. It usually takes a lot of overcoming objections.
It’s a complex process to get your prospect to point A, where they don’t know you, to them becoming a team member.
This sales process is not being taught to network marketers and that is why they are lacing results and end up “burning” through their warm market.
ATTRACTION MARKETING
We teach how to have (only) interested prospects to come to you. It is a much simpler process and I will share it with you here.
So instead of having skeptical people, you will have excited and motivated people coming to you wanting to join your team.
Either way you do prospecting…
I will show you a way to close your prospects without being “salesy”. It is all about the prospect. In the end it’s their decision whether they will join you or not. More you push someone and more salesy you are, more likely is that they will quit and not be committed to their business.
You want to enroll people who truly want this and it is their decision.
So how do you improve your closing rates?
It is by asking lots of questions and by listening.
You got to find out what got them interested to get on a call with you. Dig in deeper to find out what is the real reason they are looking into your business.
“Why” the makes you cry
I’m sure you heard the term. We don’t necessarily need to dig up that why. Most people don’t make decisions based on pain. Pain is not a great motivator. People tend to suffer through the pain until it becomes unbearable and then they would change something.
“People make decisions to gain pleasure or to avoid pain.”
Lot’s of trainers say this, where in fact FEAR is the biggest motivator. Most buying decisions are based on fear. A fear that if something doesn’t change, it will affect your future.
Remember the whole toilet paper craze. We went to stock up out of feaf, fear of running out.
So in closing
When you’re having closing enrollment conversations, you need to find out what is your prospects biggest fear. One of your questions needs to be about what are they afraid of will happen in the future if they don’t do this and join you today.
They you will present your opportunity as a solution to their biggest fears.
