This week was a BIG week…
My son graduated First Grade and we did a full year virtually. 🙂
Are you a homeschooling mom or had to do virtual school for the part of last year too? Maybe you are thinking about doing it. I heard from a few moms who are looking into this option next year too.
I am super happy that we did it!! And in this blog I’m going to share with you 3 tips that will help you in case you decide to go virtual with your kids.
If you are considering homeschooling your kids, but you work, maybe you’d also be interested in how to work and make money from home. That is why I created this free guide to help you. 3 Helpful Tips For Homeschooling
- Keep them on a schedule– start them every day at the same time and tell them about their schedule for the day. I always encourage my son to get everything done as quick as possible so he can earn extra time.
- Take them out– Because they now spend more time at home and on the computer it is important that we take them outdoors, parks where they can socialize, sports and organize play dates for them too.
- Be flexible– sometimes you just have to wing it. Not everything is going to go smoothly every time, so we sometimes need to addopt to a new situation. I know most of us in this role have to multitask. Just be flexible and adopt quickly. Things are not always going to be perfect.
Here is more what I had learned
I didn’t know how to teach my kid how to read. English is not my first language and I had no idea how they learn reading. It was like me going to school with them and learning what sight words are and how to pit it all together. I am now confident I can teach my daughter how to read too.
How to explain math so they understand how to solve problems. That was a lot easier as I saw very good in math, and so is my son. It is cool to see him understand even without me having to explain it.
Working on different projects- we had a lot of fun building castles, bridges, painting…
This generation are SUPER KIDS- didn’t take them long at all to figure out how to use computers. I didn’t know how to use one till I was in my teens.
And what moms do best- MULTITASKING.
Hope you got value from this, if you have feel free to share and leave a comment.
