Onboarding in Network Marketing

When joining a new company or joining a new team, what do you need to look for in an onboarding process? It’s simple. Network marketing onboarding system must work.

It is designed for your newest team member to have a fast win. Unfortunately, lots of them are outdated or some companies and teams don’t even have them.

It goes something like: “Create a list of a hundred people that you know”, then run!

List of a 100

What is wrong  with the list of hundred?   Most people by now have been  pitched something on social media  one time or another.

They will usually go something like this: “Hey, I started something new, I’m super excited. I would love for you to have a look at this and possibly even do this with me. Can I send you a quick video so you can take a look?”

Sometimes we will go a little bit more as we were taught better ways of sending these messages. We’d use things like: “If I would you? If I send you this video, would you watch it?”

But people have seen this over and over again from friends and even from strangers by now on social media.

Whichever message at this point, it sounds scripted and fake.

Most of your friends are going to ignore it or politely give you an excuse.  Very rarely you will have success with this method, but you will waste a whole bunch of time.

A fair amount of REJECTION

When I first started, I was doing it this way and I hated it. I hated rejection and was super scared.

And in those old school systems, once you’re done  talking to all the friends that you know from your list,  then it’s time to move on to strangers.

Then there’s a whole other list of strangers. Scripted messages or like ways to build relationships so you can then later pitch them your business.

Chit-chatting first usually wastes you a lot of time and going straight to the point it gets  you angry, hateful messages back.

Why? There’s no trust, no rapport, no credibility with them!

They don’t know you.

Social Media Launch Plan

So what is the alternative? What is this onboarding system that works? It’s a full on social media launch plan like  the one I created for me and my team.

Our goal is to get them their first customers within the first 48 hours, get them to the first rank in seven days and to the core rank within 30 days.

It gives them a track to run on.

When I first joined our team, and I was brand new in network marketing, and I just remember what our onboarding system used to look like back then.

And all I saw was  these circles and circles. “If you get 2 and they get 2…”  I was totally confused.

I was willing to do this, coachable, but wasn’t quite sure what to do.  All I see here is circles. I did not understand it. I got the math part but not ways to do it.

There were only scripts that I did not feel comfortable using.

I figured it out

Eventually, I figured it out. It took me about six months to get to  1, 000 per month, but that was what  that system was promising to get you in 90 days.

But what if you can simplify it?  If you can give your newest person a post example that they can just copy and paste and make it their own, post it to get some traction, interest and curiosity  around the products or around the business?

And have her friends or his friends raise their hands because they’re interested.

All that instead of sending scripted messages to their friends.

Make it all about your new team member getting their first sales  and the return on their investment.

After they achieve this then you can look and sit down with them and talk over their goals and plans for the future.

In my team, I teach them attraction marketing from A to Z full on.

When a network marketer comes to me and they want to implement this system for their own team with their company it will likely cost them like $6, 500 in coaching and training.

But when they join me and my team they get this system for free.

A track to run on

Vehicle (your company) is so important but so is the track (System) they can run on.

It will determine how many people will stay and how many will quit.

I heard this from Eric Worre: “just help them make their first dollar”.  It increases their chances of staying and not quitting.
